I'm Alec Tear, a first year Graphic Design student at Northumbria University.
I have always loved to draw, experiment and search for compositional balance in the work which I produce.
This blog is a place for me to document and showcase my work as I develop as a designer.
I produced this ‘Typographical portrait’ of the American beat poet Alan Ginsberg a few months back. The project was actually an animation based one, but I had several other outcomes. This is probably one of my favourite pieces.
To make this portrait I assembled the words from Ginsberg’s poem ‘Howl’ along the contours of his face. I then exposed the design to a screen and produced a number of different screen prints.
